Biography
Dr. Hemonta Kr. Dutta, MS, M.Ch. is currently Associate Professor and in-charge of Pediatric Surgery, in the Assam Medical College & Hospital in Dibrugarh. Dr Dutta obtained his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Assam Medical College & Hospital, Dibrugarh and his M.Ch. in Pediatric Surgery from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi in 1998. He wrote more then 34 publications and authored 4 book chapters, reported 4 surgical technical innovations and received several awards such as the Prof. M. Rohatgi Gold Medal†for being the Best Post-graduate student in Pediatric Surgery in AIIMS, New Delhi in 1998 or the "Young Pediatric Surgeon from India†award during the 36th Annual Congress of Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons held in Sendai, Japan in 1999. Dr Dutta also organized several national meetings (2nd Annual Conference of the NE Chapter of IAPS, 2004, Symposium on Neonatology at Assam Medical College in 2007, Workshop on Pediatric Ventilation at Assam Medical College in June, 2008, Symposium on Pediatric Oncology in at Assam Medical College 2008, 7th Annual Conference of the NE Chapter of IAPS, Dibrugarh 2009. 34th Annual conference of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Guwahati 2008, 10th Annual Conf. of NE chapter of IAPS, Dibrugarh 2012)
